This week, the Mendoza's helped deliver food rations through our Live Simply feeding program serving our 76 families comprised of single moms in extreme poverty areas with special needs/disabled families. They visited our beloved 13-year-old Gonzalo, a paraplegic, mentally challenged, mute with severe cerebral palsy. They brought food, prayed with his family, and—most importantly—got down on the floor beside Gonzalo to play with him and remind him that he is seen, valued, and loved.
Maisie said “ Gonzalo was seen, he was loved, and my boys learned that sometimes loving people means getting down on the floor with them.” Gonzalo represents many special-needs families we walk alongside through sharing the love of CHRIST with food rations, practical assistance, prayer, and friendship.
