BIG PRAYERS, BIG ANSWERS

Today I am celebrating my 64th birthday and am getting a real a gift from the Lord tomorrow morning (Sunday)! “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. Psalm 73:26 It’s

After my Echocardiogram appointment yesterday, I confirmed my immediate next step was locked in and insurance approved getting a Biventricular Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (BiV ICD), also known as Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy with a Defibrillator (CRT-D). It combines a pacemaker to synchronize the heart's pumping chambers (ventricles) with a defibrillator to protect against life-threatening arrhythmias. This device has three wires (leads) are guided through a vein into the heart's chambers (right atrium, right ventricle, and left ventricle).

Cristy and I are spoiled by GOD’s love as we move forward getting needed help! We know many have been praying for me, our words can’t express the gratitude to every text, call and prayer. We give our LORD all the glory. All praise to HIM!!

FRANCO is in HEAVEN TODAY

Abandoned & abused, our Lord rescued Franco. Franco is a child of the King.

We love Franco so much, but GOD loves you even more. You awaited patiently not uttering a sound, unable to move a limb....Franco was fragile, mentally challenged, quadriplegic mute yet a pure JOY to us all! His first audible words are now with our Father in Heaven, his first steps are now on the streets of gold for eternity. Franco’s smile will be etched in our hearts forever !

AFTER THE FLOOD, YOUR RESOURCES ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

We wanted to provide a short, after the flood, ministry update as our work and your resources continue to be greatly used. During the historic flood, we were able to provide two food rations for 76 families, blankets, sanitary items, propane gas and ointments and additional, your help blessed our families with school supplies in March. Our school year runs March to December. We also can assure you our Special Needs Orphanage Family is very well taken care of and wonderfully loved.

THIS IS OUR MINISTRY NEIGHBORHOOD and AREQUIPA

Historic, torrential rains have collapsed bridges, wiped out roads and railways. A state of emergency has been declared in half the country due to the horrific devastation. Neighboring Colombia has sent the COLOMBIAN National Emergency Medical Rescue (CINAT) team to assist.

Our Live Simply team with Jorge and Vilma Esteves have been relentless along with the entire MMI Peru team serving our beloved special needs and disabled families, our seniors & single Moms in vulnerable areas during this critical time.

Your help has made an immediate impact providing Food Baskets & Gas Cylinder Refills for our families and meeting their immediate needs.

HISTORIC FLOODING & MUDSLIDES IN PERU

Arequipa is currently facing a dire humanitarian crisis as torrential rains have triggered massive mudslides and flooding. This rainy season (Jan,Feb,March) is historic damage and despair. AQP has suffered torrential downpours that are expected to continue. Authorities are warning the death toll could rise as access roads to the town are blocked, hindering rescue efforts. The Peruvian army has deployed troops transporting humanitarian aid, drinking water and sandbags. AQP has Man-made channels or trenches used to manage overflow water, mud and debris flows (known as “huaicos”) are called “quebradas” have been breached & collapsed causing massive damage and shutting down basic travel to work and markets. Our orphanage family is safe but many of our special needs community, single Mom’s and those living in squatter areas on mountain sides are now without water/food/roads/power and not able to work. Roads have been washed out completely. Over 5,000 homes have been damaged or destroyed, forcing mass evacuations as rivers of mud bury entire neighborhoods. #livesimplyfeedingspecialneeds

SING it with me....LA BAMBA...Para bailar la bamba..BA BA BAMBA!

This Special Needs Disability Center is about an hour north of us in a cartel-guerrilla controlled and dangerous area. Our short-term goal is to seek local government resources, local churches and business to better support this project. We want to expand hours, currently we are open twice a week for afternoon sessions. All parents are required to volunteer and we provide training/guidance for meeting their loved ones needs. We know with the Lord‘s help, we can establish a local sustainable network for these precious souls! Sharing our time, the Gospel, and the love of family is our biggest ministry investment in this project.

It’s all love!
