01 / CARE & BELONGING
We support a special needs home in Peru, serving children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. The September 2026 ministry update reported 35 residents.
Our work includes time with residents, practical resources, and support for the people who provide everyday care. Every person is seen as a member of the Live Simply family.
02 / FOOD & EVERYDAY SUPPORT
The feeding program supports single-parent households and families caring for people with disabilities. As reported in September 2026, it was reaching 76 families.
Alongside food rations, the ministry offers practical assistance, prayer, and friendship. After-school care and skills support help parents provide for their children and keep their families together.
03 / COLOMBIA
In Bucaramanga, the ministry supports a girls’ transition home that reported caring for 48 girls in September 2026. Support includes tutoring, devotions, art, cooking, and time together.
Tatiana, a former resident and culinary graduate, now works as the home’s pastry chef. She helps the girls learn baking, budgeting, inventory, and other practical skills.

The “We Feed Ourselves” garden project provides practical, vocational-style learning for older residents at the special needs home.
The vegetable garden helps feed residents and staff, with some produce also supporting single-parent families. Everyday participation creates opportunities to learn and contribute.

05 / PERU & COLOMBIA
Live Simply works with Samaritan’s Purse through Operation Christmas Child. In 2025, the ministry reported distributing more than 7,000 shoeboxes through 22 churches in Arequipa, Peru, and 22,000 through 240 churches in Santander, Colombia.
After receiving a shoebox gift, children are invited to The Greatest Journey, a 12-lesson discipleship course that introduces Bible stories, Scripture memorization and following Christ in daily life, as children share Him with friends and family. The amazing journey of a shoebox gift begins with you and results in evangelism, discipleship and multiplication.
06 / SINGLE MOM LOVE
Our Single Mom Project allows our moms to provide for their children, keeping the family unit at home and together. We aim to train and offer practical life skills for these moms to lead independent lives and support their families.

07 / CERRILLO, PERU
Cerrillo is a very rural, one-street town where generations live off the land and field workers make about $2 a day. When its single-class school was broken and close to closing, our Live Simply family joined forces with a feeding center and added teaching power for reading, writing, English and computers, sharing the love of Christ.
The government has since closed the school, and the kids now attend school in nearby Characato. Several Cerrillo families continue with our single mom ministry, free preschool, discipleship classes and street ministry.

Our Special Needs "We Feed Ourselves" Garden project is our vocational style training program for the older kids at the special needs orphanage. We plowed a giant vegetable garden to help feed our kids! Thru GOD’s provision we are able to feed 35 kids, the staff and even some of our single Mom family’s!

Every child in the project lives in very challenging situations. After receiving shoebox gifts, children are invited back to participate in our discipleship program, The Greatest Journey. Through this 12-lesson course, which includes Bible stories and Scripture memorization, they learn how to follow Christ in their daily lives as they share Him with friends and family.
